Welcome to St Anne's Catholic Primary School
Welcome to St Anne’s Catholic Primary School in Nantwich and thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will find it useful and informative, both as an introduction to our school community and a useful resource.
We hope you find your visit interesting and appreciate any suggestions you may have to improve the information we provide.
We are a small, strong team with a very clear vision for the education we provide.
At St Anne’s our aim is that:
all children are safe and enjoy learning
there is collaborative learning both inside and outside the classroom
there is an emotional and intellectual engagement in learning
there is a collective sense of competence and achievement
our children feel stretched and creative with a sense of meaning and purpose in all their learning
We are a thriving, vibrant, popular school with hard working, happy children who enjoy coming to school, achieve well and are proud to be part of St Anne’s Catholic Parish community. We have a day nursery, ‘Sunflowers @ St Anne’s, which is in our grounds, which helps with both childcare and pre school education. Sunflowers @ St Anne’s also provides a before and after school club to support and meet the needs of our busy working parents.
Our children are always expected to do their best and aim for excellence in everything they do. Our teachers and teaching assistants are always there to help and support in all aspects of learning and development.
We have an attractive building to work in, surrounded by spacious grounds in a quiet residential area. Our classrooms and communal areas are colourful with our children’s work displayed on the walls, making it interesting and stimulating each day. We have many books and lots of equipment to help with learning, a well equipped library with many new titles, computers in each classroom, as well as a laptop trolley with 15 wireless laptops.
The Friends of St Anne’s work tirelessly to support and resource our school with all the things that the budget struggles to buy.
We also see the fund raising events as a chance to come together as a school community, make connections with other families and have fun, including discos, coffee mornings, race nights, beauty and hairdressing events, quiz nights and the Annual Summer Fayre in July. The money they have raised has made a big difference to our school.
Whilst at St Anne’s, the children have the opportunity to participate in different educational visits to enhance their learning experiences. For example visits to Tatton Park, Chester Zoo, museums, art galleries, theatre and residential visits for Year 5 & 6.
We enjoy entertaining our parents and friends, with the youngest children reminding us of the Christmas story, and the older children re enacting the Easter Story. Year 6 like to entertain us in July before they depart for High School. We also invite parents to join us for a variety of services, assemblies and activities.
We are an important part of St Anne’s Parish, and our priest, Fr Daly and Deacon Peter come in on a regular basis to celebrate Mass and class liturgies. We learn to share what we have with others, taking our Harvest gifts to neighbours, and we raise money for our school fund by taking part in activities such as sponsored walks, cake sales and non uniform days. This money goes to CAFOD, to help children in India and also Zimbabwe as well as the Shrewsbury Diocese Good Shepherd Appeal each Lent.
Explore our website further and gain an impression of the atmosphere, care support, guidance and challenge St Anne’s provides.
We are very proud of our school, the pupils particularly so.
Do arrange to visit us by telephoning the office to make an appointment, and we will be delighted to show you around!
We look forward to seeing you!
